Early Adopter Program Lets Business Users Test Drive New Google Sites & Springboard Apps

Do you use Google Apps for Work in your office?  Chances are you’ll be excited to hear about the new features that Google has in the works.

Google Sites – New & Improved!

First up are the improvements made to Google Sites, a service that allows users to create websites to share information internally within an organization.

The new version of Google Sites boasts a complete visual overhaul and enhanced editing features that makes it easier for less tech-savvy users to create websites.

The new redesign simply gives Google Sites an updated look so it fits in with the rest of the service lineup.  Google Sites was first launched in 2008 and hasn’t received as much attention as Google’s other services since its initial launch despite having a fairly large userbase.

Aesthetics aside, the new editor functionality is what really counts. Thanks to the new editor, users can build out their websites by dragging and dropping the desired elements into a template. No HTML or JavaScript knowledge required.

If you have a variety of devices within your organization then you can rest assured that your employees can browse websites powered by Google Sites without any usability issues.  Websites built using Google Sites are responsive and will display properly across multiple devices, making it easy to view regardless if you’re at your desk or on the go.

Introducing Google Springboard

Springboard is an entirely new app that Google created to help you find whatever it is you may be looking for by searching across all of your information inside Google Apps.

Prabhakar Raghavan, Vice President of Engineering for Google Apps offered the following description of the new feature on the Google for Work blog:

Google Springboard helps you find the right information that you need at the moment that you need it. It searches quickly and easily across all of your information in Google Apps including Gmail, Calendar, Docs, Drive, Contacts and more. Springboard also assists you throughout your workday by proactively providing useful and actionable information and recommendations.
