Microsoft Offering Free Windows XP Data Migration Tool

As some of you are already aware, upgrading from Windows XP to Windows 7 or 8 is a bit of a hassle since there’s no easy way to transfer your existing files & settings.

To help solve that problem, Microsoft has partnered up with Laplink to offer Windows XP users a free data migration tool that will copy all of their files & settings from Windows XP to a newer version of Windows.  The data transfer tool, PCmover Express for Windows XP, is completely free and can be downloaded from Microsoft’s website.

Keep in mind that PCmover Express for Windows XP does not transfer installed applications or software. If you want to move your software & apps, you’ll have to purchase PCmover Professional.

Will you be upgrading from Windows XP?
